I downloaded this app on my phone (can't remember the name of it) where you take a selfie and it shows you what your skin will look like in 10 years if you don't wear sunscreen everyday. And omg, no thank you. It was NOT cute.
I try to remember to wear sunscreen daily when I go outside. However, did you know that you are supposed to wear it inside as well? The sun rays that come through the window can damage your skin too. Not only that, you need to re-apply your sunscreen throughout the day. Also, make sure when you are purchasing a sunscreen you are buying one that is broad spectrum. Very important.
I learned all these things from Dr. Dray's youtube channel, she is a dermatologist, super smart and give you so much info on how to take care of your skin. Both watching Dr. Dray's youtube videos and using that app, it really scared me into being way more strict with my sunscreen habits, like applying it daily to face and body (even if I am inside the whole day) and re-applying it throughout the day.
I found that re-applying the sunscreen through the day can be super tricky, especially if you are wearing make-up. Finally I figured out, through some TikTok vids, that the best way to re-play sunscreen is with a powder sunscreen or sunscreen spray.
So, here is my little sunscreen routine. I first start off with a broad spectrum SPF sunscreen before applying my foundation. Then I use a sunscreen powder to set my make-up. For my body I use a sunscreen spray. I carry the sunscreen powder and sunscreen spray with me EVERYWHERE to re-apply throughout the day. So far, I have been pretty good about keeping up with applying (and re-applying) my sunscreen. It is a must have habit for healthy skin, gotta make that sunscreen your BFF.
What are some of your favorite sunscreens?
